HISTORY/SCIENCE/DT Task:
In science, we have been looking at nutritional groups and the nutritional value of different cereals. We were surprised by how much they vary in their carbs, sugar and fat content and discussed why we may need more carbs, fat and sugar in cereals.
In history, we have been learning about the Maya civilisation and how they used to trade with the cacao bean. They drank hot chocolate which the Spanish took back to Spain with them. Eventually we added milk and sugar to it to make it more palatable. We would like you to try making the Mayan Hot chocolate and compare it to today’s hot chocolate.
Finally, in DT next term we plan to design some chocolate bars so would you be able to taste test a few bars over the next two weeks. Complete one sheet per bar that you taste – cut each bar into pieces so that you each get to try a piece and write your feedback. We hope you will all like this homework!
Please also try to play some Garage games in TTRockstars to keep practising those times tables. Could you also try a ‘Soundcheck’ game to get experience for the Multiplication Check in Year 4?
Thank you for your continued support.
