“Excelling Through Enjoyment”

24th April 2017:

Today class 4S became dragon hunters/investigative journalists - acting on reports from local residents and expert dragonologists, we carefully went on to the field, where the dragon had reportedly landed in the early hours, and searched for evidence.

see photo below.

We are now going to interview potential eye-witnesses and experts to write a newspaper report on this very exciting event...we'll keep you posted!!

Dragon Sighting in Chelmsford!

Science- Making Circuits!!

We've had fun making series and parallel circuits. Looking at what happens when components are added or taken away from circuits and the effects of adding more batteries/cells! We definitely have some budding electricians in our class!

World Book Day 2017

Our class have had great fun dressing up as some of our favourite book characters today!

We have spent the day editing and publishing our own story books. Mrs Sreetharan has been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo impressed with the descriptive language used! Everyone has worked really hard on these and shown a lot of progress in their writing- 4S- we all deserve a big pat on the back!!!!

Tuesday 21st Feb

All of year 4 had a fantastic morning at the Superstars Competition! A special well done to Adam and Destiny who were very brave speaking in front of all those people!

We all had such a good time competing and our school came second in the competition!

Well done Mildmay!

The whole of year 4 have had a wonderful day being Romans! We had a morning full of Roman arts and crafts, and an afternoon feast with Roman style entertainment!

A special thank you to all the parents and staff who made today possible!!

WC 5th Dec

We've had great fun in maths this week - working on area and perimeter. We even took our learning outside! (see photos below!)

We've all got very full bellies from our delicious Christmas lunch - the pupils loved that the teachers were serving them!

We're very busy in Literacy - writing our non-chronological reports of penguins - Fluffy and Puffy being our official penguin advisors!

Teacher: Mrs Sreetharan

WC: 14th Nov 2016

This week we have had lots of fun working with fizzing, exploding drinks in science! The pupils loved doing this experiment and we now know that a gas can be weighed! We have also enjoyed lots of outdoor learning; pretending we are particles to form solids, liquids and gases.

In our English lessons, we've had a great time creating a fictional class biography all about Darwin Waterson: the world's greatest underwater goldfish spy! We are now at the end of our biography unit and we are writing our final assessment pieces! no

WC 21/11/16

This week we had our last music session with Mrs Bishop-we have loved having her in to teach us music. We can now all play a tune on the recorder - write and read music!

We are continuing to learn about Antarctica and we have two class pets - Fluffy and Puffy the Penguins! Did you know: millions of penguins live in Antarctica? We learnt how penguins can keep themselves warm or cool and where penguins are found in the world. Photos of Fluffy and Puffy below...
