Homework W.C. Monday 8th November - World Kindness Day

On Saturday 13th November 2021 it is World Kindness Day.

We would like to promote the kind and caring culture that we nurture at school by asking children to take part in acts of kindness in their spare time this week. This may be helping out with the laundry at home, letting someone know how much they care for them, taking the time to play with a younger sibling or any other ideas they can think of.

We would then like them to either write a note about it, create a picture of what they did or even take a photo to enable them to share it with their class and reflect on how it made them and the other person feel. These can be brought in to school by Friday 19th November or you can email them to your class teacher using your bird email address.

This will lead us nicely into Anti-bullying week.

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.

This is one of the reasons that ‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of Anti-Bullying Week taking place from 15 to 19 of November 2021.

To celebrate what makes us all unique we will be taking part in ‘Odd sock day’ on Monday 15th November (look out for more information on this soon).

The children could also write/draw about one of their acts of kindness in a decorated heart to display on our school kindness tree. (These can be found on Mrs Bird’s classroom door.)

We also have a whole school competition to see which class can complete the most acts of kindness this week.
