Safer Internet Day, 9th February

Today, Tuesday 9th February 2021, is Safer Internet Day.

As well as learning about the physical safety of children, we also need to focus on keeping children safe online. This is especially important at the moment as children’s lives have changed dramatically due to the pandemic with schools closed and the national lockdown. It’s not surprising that children and young people are spending more time online.

The internet is a great way for children to keep in touch with their friends and keep busy during lockdown, it can also bring risks. It’s really important to talk to your children about how to keep safe online and to be aware of the apps and website they’re using.

We've sent a letter and a power-point presentation home to help parents talk about internet safety as part of their remote learning .

There is also a lot more guidance and advice on our 'Parents/E-safety' page and a link the 'The Two Johns' website EST: E-Safety Training.

Kind regards,

D Mulholland
