World Book Day

As usual, there were a range of amazing costumes on show for this years World Book Day.  How many can you name?

Panathlon Deaf Swimming Gala

Today we sent a team to compete at the primary deaf swimming gala at the Olympic Aquatic centre in London.  We enjoyed seeing so many deaf children and taking in part in the different events.

Deaf Studies - EDCS

Today we were visited by representatives from the Essex Deaf Children's Society.  They explained to us some of the events and activities they are planning to do and even asked us to help create some poster ideas for them to use in the future.

RAD Deaf and Deaf Blind Christmas carol concert

Today we attended the annual RAD carol concert at Chelmsford cathedral.  It was lovely to see so many deaf children and adults.  We performed a signed carol on the stage in front of hundreds of people.

Deaf Studies - Rev. Stephanie Gillingham

Ahead of the upcoming Deaf and Deafblind Chistmas carol service, we were visited today by Reverend Stephanie Gillingham.

Deaf Studies - Vernon and Roman

In deaf studies today, we were visited by two of our old pupils.  They came to talk to us about their memories of their time at Mildmay, as well as what it is like being taught at a school for the Deaf.

Deaf Studies - Ruth Montgomery

We were very excited to be visited by Ruth Montgomery, a famous deaf musician today.  She gave us lots of information about herself, taught us some music and played some music for us on her flute.
