Welcome to sign of the week and term signs 

Hi I’m Miss Chaplin, I am proud to be deaf and I work in resource base. It’s my responsibility to encourage the whole school community to learn sign language.  

Each week, there will one or two new signs linking to what is happening now, as well as some topic signs, which will give lots of signs for a particular topic or event.  The first term signs will link to autumn, Halloween and changes in the season. Each term the signs will link to that term e.g. second term links to autumn, fireworks and Christmas.  

I hope you enjoy learning some new signs and to share with your friends.  

This is to encourage and to include children to learn sign language throughout the school and to be able to communicate easier with deaf children. Also to celebrate how important BSL is to deaf people.
