2.Click on the link to see the challenges.
3.Have fun doing the activities.
4.Using the table, which is attached, take a picture of your results and email them to:
[email protected] - Put SPRINGTIME CHALLENGE in the subject header of your email.
5.If you have permission you could also send a picture of you doing the activities.
Once cssp have received the results you will receive a certificate from Chelmsford SSP in recognition of your participation in this event.
Results of individual achievements and top scoring schools will be sent out in three weeks time.
There is also a Springtime picture attached for you to decorate. You could also do one of your own too.
Spring the Cross:
You will need to use tea towels, scarves, or t- shirts to make a small cross on the floor, and someone to time you for 20 or 30 seconds. Using two footed jumps, start in one quarter of the cross and jump into each quarter in a clockwise direction. You can do single or double bounces, whichever you find the quickest. Once you have completed two footed jumps in each quarter, this counts as ONE circuit. How many circuits can you do? Yrs. 3&4 have 20 seconds and Yrs. 5&6 have 30 seconds to complete the task. Write in your best score.
Spring the Paper:
You will need two chairs 2 meters apart, (could use tables/ worktops). Place a piece of paper on each piece of furniture and have a pen or felt tip in your hand. Get someone to time you for 20 or 30 seconds. Stand in the middle and you must sidestep to one piece of paper and make a dot and then sidestep to the other piece of paper and make a dot. How many dots can you make in the allotted time? Yrs. 3&4 have 20 seconds and Yrs. 5&6 have 30 seconds to complete the task. Write in your best score, make sure you add up all the dots on both pieces of paper.
Spring Round the Body:
Keep your feet on the ground. Hold the sock ball in one hand, and in a figure of eight action, take the ball around one leg, then the other leg and finally around your waist This counts as ONE circuit. Pass the socks between your hands as you switch legs. How many circuits can you do? Yrs. 3&4 have 20 seconds and Yrs. 5& 6 have 30 seconds to complete the task. Write in your best score.
Spring the Ball:
Yrs. 3&4 Hold the sock ball in one hand, throw in the air and catch in two hands. Yrs. 5& 6 Alternate hands by holding it in your right hand to throw up and catch with two hands, then hold the ball in your left hand to throw up and catch with two hands. How many catches can you do? Yrs. 3&4 have 20 seconds and Yrs. 5& 6 have 30 seconds to complete the task. Write in your best score.
Most importantly have fun and send us a photo of your results to [email protected] .
