Year 3

When you email your teacher during the week here is a question you could try and answer.

Have you tried anything new since lockdown?

Year 3 Distance Learning Summer 2 – activities to be completed across the 5 day school week.

* highlighted in yellow are to be changed/up-dated every Monday.

  • 3 x weekly MyMaths activities will be set to start each Monday – due in by the Sunday, these will be set to consolidate learning from earlier this year or to continue the learning of time, length and statistics.

We are reviewing the work of our own maths sets and leaving feedback – please read this.

Arithmetic Tests are available to complete. (These revise all areas of our work on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Please do one from each section per week. Some weeks will have some extra challenges.

  • Please complete the daily maths lessons on  Watch the videos first and then complete the sheets/activities. You can print them off if you want to/can but you can also just write answers down on a sheet of paper and draw out the shapes that need shading etc. If you have already covered that lesson then you get a day off!
  • We have set 10 (1 minute) Garage games a week as a minimum at  - NB: the government expects all pupils to know their 1-12 times tables and corresponding division facts by the end of year 4! This will be so important for the Multiplication Check in June 2021.

  • Please see our Thematic plan and look at the English boxes for your writing tasks. If this is not appropriate, then please use the Pobble website as per Mr Mulholland’s Home Learning Letter.
  • Weekly reading comprehensions are available – please select the level that is most appropriate to your child. However, if it is more appropriate / your children prefers it then please use the online Reading Pro comprehensions.  Or both!
  • Continue to complete the weekly spellings – choose the relevant spelling PowerPoint for your child.

Thematic Project

  • Our Summer 2 theme is ‘The Rainforest’
  • Please see the ‘Menu’ of activities to choose from. We expect you to complete the highlighted tasks but the others are for you to choose from. Choose AT LEAST ONE activity per week to complete this half term.

  • Please keep active year 3 – it’s good for our physical and mental well-being – see links on website
  • The ‘Votes For Schools’ web link will be updated weekly – some current affairs/issues for you to debate at home- or why not write a short piece based on the week’s theme?
  • Plus lots more on the website to keep you busy.
